Doctors feel that they want a specific type of location and actually every dental practice regardless if it is in a professional office or a shopping center location or if it is a standing building, can be a successful practice if you feel the need that you need that visibility, that is important to you. If you want to be in a professional building, you still have the same opportunity to be successful. Most important thing for the patient is letting you have a good parking area for them and a visible address because you can be going to be spending marketing dollars, bringing these patients in. So, that is the most important to the patient. Most important to you should be what kind of patients do you want to treat, do I want a family office practice or do I want a cosmetic practice. If you are really comfortable with a family type practice and that is what you want, then you need to look at an area where there are lots of families and homes and children, and maybe it is going to be closer to where you live, where you can involve your neighbors and the children from the school, where your children go to school, and if you want a cosmetic practice, you can look at a very different type of area. It is just going to be a higher income area and may be in an area where there is lots of companies and corporations and much more affluent area and you are not going to be seeing children. So, you really need to choose what type of patients do you want to treat, where do you want the practice to be, do you want to be on the Freeway two hours each way in the Southern California traffic or do you want to live within 30 minutes, you know of your practice. That is a very important issue when you thinking about emergencies that may come up on weekends. Do you want to spend four hours on a Sunday or do you want to spend two.
